The M19 rifle is a single-shot weapon firing an 8-shot clip of 7.62 mm ammo. When rumors of a Soviet invasion of the U.S. spread through the states, survivalists demanded a weapon that could use Soviet ammo (necessary, said the survivalists, if Americans were to be able to use captured ammo). The invasion never took place, but the M19 remains a high-profile weapon. Although it can't fire more than one bullet at a time, it does have greater range than pistols.
